Coney Island Anniversaries in 2020

Wonder Wheel:

Built-in 1920 and initially called the “Dip-the-Dip”, Deno’s Wonder Wheel celebrates its 100th Anniversary in 2020. Standing at a towering 150 feet and weighing 200 tons, the Wonder Wheel is one of the most iconic rides in Coney Island. A little known fact is that the Wheel was the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sun-Wheel! No trip to Coney Island is complete without taking a ride, whether you choose a swinging car or stationary car, everyone is sure to have a wonderful experience and enjoy the breathtaking views that you will never forget. 

Brooklyn Cyclones:

Since making Coney Island their home on June 25th of 2001, the Brooklyn Cyclones have been one of the biggest attractions in New York City. After filling a void in Brooklyn after the Dodgers left in 1957 for Los Angeles, this Mets affiliated minor-league baseball team has helped create unforgettable memories and become hometown heroes with their 2019 New-York Penn League Championship. As the Brooklyn Cyclones proudly make their way to their 20th season they do so with their devoted and passionate fans. 

Luna Park:

Celebrating their 10th year in 2020, Luna Park has become one of the biggest attractions in Coney Island. With an almost annual debut of new rides and attractions,  . Luna Park brings a day of fun and adventure for families during a visit to their parks.. Even when the sun sets you can enjoy the beautiful lights of the rides that illuminate the area with vivid colors.

Coney Island USA:

Since 1980, Coney Island USA has contributed to its community for an astonishing forty years. Dedicated to preserving the American pop culture they have created various programs and exhibitions that many have come to love such as the Coney Island Museum, the Coney Island Circus Sideshow, and the world-famous Mermaid Parade. For the years to come Coney Island USA will continue to keep the culture alive as it has always been on their agenda to do so. 

Ford Amphitheater:

Located on the Coney Island Boardwalk the Ford Amphitheater has served as an amazing outdoor live entertainment venue. Since opening its doors in 2014, this venue has entertained many as it has hosted a variety of shows, concerts, and comedy events. The Ford Amphitheater will continue to provide everyone with countless moments and memories as it continues to operate in the coming years.
